Who are you?
I am Friso van Terwisga, 23 years old and a third year student at the Hogeschool Rotterdam. As part of the Global Marketing and Sales course, I did a five-month internship at STROOM. As of January 17, I will continue to work part-time as a junior communications consultant.
How was your internship and what is the most important thing you learned at STROOM?
In August, I began my internship at media agency STROOM. Since then, I have been working five days a week primarily on content at STROOM. In addition, I rotate with consultants to really learn the media management and consultancy profession. During my internship I learned, among other things, about the power of diversity and content in content. I really enjoyed my internship; besides learning a lot I also had a lot of fun with my colleagues. The young, dynamic and inspiring atmosphere makes it a great place to work. Everyone is open to helping others and knowledge is actively shared.
Why are you staying / What are you going to do?
At the start of my internship, I knew this was a company where I could learn a lot and would like to continue working. After my time as a Content Marketing intern, I am now starting as a Junior Communications Consultant. I hope to grow into a role where I can eventually support clients in building their brand to the best of my ability. In addition, I naturally want to specialize more in media. With lots of energy for growth, I look forward to my continuation at STROOM!
Why did STROOM decide to detain Friso?
Matthijs Kloezeman, senior communications consultant, explains: "Friso made a very good impression from day 1. By asking the right questions, high work rate and continuous commitment to clients he over-performed as an intern. When he indicated that he would actually like to continue this, we struck and offered him a contract. There is always room for communications talent at STROOM."
