Joris from Talpa and Rutger from Stroom on radio 2.0

Besides an atmosphere video, this time we also conducted an in-depth interview with the speakers about Radio 2.0. So you can refresh the topic again!

Now that just about every device with which audio can be listened to is "connected," radio is experiencing a real revival: not only is linear radio well listened to via online devices, more and more audio media are being added. Think podcasts, targeted radio via smart speakers (Alexa, Google Home) and curated radio.

This presents a lot of opportunities for advertisers. At the March 29 Radio 2.0 Lunch Session, we discussed this in more detail.

The lineup:

  • Rutger Mackenbach strategy director of Stroom, gave a current update on the (online) radio market: what are listeners doing, what platforms are there and what digital possibilities should we be paying attention to? And of course: what can you do with that as an advertiser?
  • Joris van der Pol is managing director of OMS (at Talpa Media Solutions), sales company of Radio 538, Sky Radio and, since a year, the digital label OMX, among others. He updated us on digital disruption in the audio landscape, addressing smart speakers, streaming services, voice search and what that means for the medium and for radio advertisers.
