We like to introduce our colleagues to you. In this interview, we introduce to you Noa Dax, Graduate Intern Content & Marketing.
Who are you?
I am Noa Dax de Bruijn. Fun fact: Noa Dax is my first name, and you pronounce it Noa Dex. I am 21 years old and born and raised in Delft, but I can often be found in Rotterdam, my second favorite city. I study HBO Communication at the Hogeschool Rotterdam, where I am currently in my fourth year. I am currently working at STROOM as a graduate intern, where I am part of the marketing and communications team and writing my thesis on customer loyalty.
How do you fill your position at STROOM?
As a graduate intern for content and marketing at STROOM, I manage media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and the website. I also conduct research for my thesis. I am very enthusiastic, active and eager to learn, and enjoy working hard on my tasks.
What did you do for this?
Prior to my current position, I did a co-working internship in the communications department of a large healthcare institution during my third year of study. I also completed my fourth-year minor at a university in Madrid, where I lived for six months. Furthermore, I have always worked in hospitality and events alongside my studies.
What are your growth aspirations?
My growth aspirations are to strengthen my professional identity and build broad knowledge within the field to become an all-around communications consultant.
What energizes you in your work?
I get energy from positive and enthusiastic colleagues and clients, as well as from my commercial drive and eagerness to keep growing and learning.
What do you get energy from in your free time?
In my free time I get energy from sports and spending time with friends. I then enjoy going out for dinner at Il Peperoncino in Delft, having a drink at the Beestenmarkt in Delft or having a drink at the Oude haven in Rotterdam. I am very social and enjoy doing fun activities, such as going to a festival.
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is pasta, especially my own pasta carbonara, which in my (humble😊) opinion is the best.
What is your favorite vacation or vacation country?
My favorite vacation country is Spain. I lived in Madrid for six months during my studies, and I continue to enjoy the Spanish sun and life.
What is your favorite sport? Or what sport do you practice yourself?
My favorite sports are soccer, tennis and strength training. I played soccer for six years among other SV Den Hoorn. And I (of course) support Feyenoord. I can now regularly be found in the gym. I also want to start playing tennis more often, but I don't get around to it yet.
Which medium are you most a fan of ?
The medium I am most fan of are Instagram and TikTok. And get lost among all the Tiktoks about different festivals but also cooking videos.
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is "No risk, No story" This is a quote I kept coming across on Pinterest and have come to agree with. Because indeed when you take risks the best stories often arise.
What can people wake you up at night for?
You can wake me up at night for fresh sushi, especially with salmon.
What is your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is re-watching my favorite series: like the Blacklist, for example, even if I have already seen them several times.
What is the best thing about working in the media?
The best thing about working in media is that it is never the same and there is a lot of room for innovation. I also enjoy helping clients achieve their goals and building and maintaining valuable relationships.
What is your favorite movie and why?
I really like war movies like Schindler's List But also romcoms like Upgraded.
