The team at STROOM continues to grow, so we would like to introduce our colleagues to you. In this interview we introduce Willem-Jan, Agency Lead of STROOM Amsterdam
Who are you?
My name is Willem (Willem-Jan Nouwens). I am 55 years old and living on the Veluwe, and former owner of De Media Maatschap, the agency that merged with STROOM in June 2022 . I currently hold the role of Agency Lead STROOM Amsterdam.
How do you fill your position at STROOM?
Through the necessary degree of positivity, I try, together with our team, to provide our customers with optimal service. We do this within Candid's platform. You could say that I literally try to create growth for my colleagues, clients and agencies within the Candid platform.
What did you do for this?
I was, before becoming co-owner of The Media Partnership, a partner at Media Exposure (a media agency) which later morphed into Media Edge CIA. Later that became MEC Global and is currently known as Wavemaker which operates within the WPP group. I have always been concerned with growing media agencies. By being close to the clients, putting the client first and listening carefully to their needs.
What are your growth aspirations?
Personal: continuing to grow and develop in terms of knowledge. Professional: tooling, settlement models and other new possibilities within our rapidly changing field. Furthermore, on-boarding (former) DMM within the Candid Platform and successfully overseeing the merger with STROOM . Keeping the STROOM team Amsterdam and Rotterdam motivated and making sure people do what they do best. Continuing to focus on customers and building the organization around them.
What energizes you in your work?
By combining work with fun. I get the most energy when we are told that campaigns are achieving good results. Our partnerships with clients and the respectful cooperation that results also make me feel good at the end of the day.

Travel, friends and sports

Nothing for anything (only emergencies)
