At the end of 2018, Luuk Nagtegaal joined Stroom as an all-round media executive. Besides media, Luuk is an all-round for life as he plays soccer, travels the world is creative and sociable! We would like to introduce Luuk to you:
Who are you and what do you do at Stroom?
My name is Luuk Nagtegaal, I am 25 years old and live in Dordrecht. Besides working at Stroom as an all-round media executive, I do a lot of sports. I go to the gym a lot and I like to push my physical limits, for example by participating in a strong viking run. In my spare time I can often be found in Rotterdam for a bite to eat or a drink.
As an all-round media executive, I deal with execution for both radio, TV and out of home. Previously I worked as a sales assistant in the oil industry and I was self-employed as a videographer. Working in the media world is a completely new adventure.
During my college studies in commercial economics, I have always had a deep interest in marketing. Coming up with strategies and everything that is involved in order to appeal to a target group as well as possible is something I find very interesting. I feel that I have now found a position that suits me very well!
What is your business drive?
In my work, I like to look for the connection between client and target audience. Now I do that by scheduling and monitoring RTV and OOH campaigns, in this area I also have plenty to learn for the time being. In the future, I would also like to get involved in devising media plans and working out strategies. But first things first: master the profession as an all-round media executive!
Besides Stroom, what else makes you happy?
I love discovering new places and cultures. Just drop me anywhere with a backpack and I'll hit the road. Previously, I have traveled through Central America and Asia and these trips were both a super cool experience. Especially the atmosphere in Central America grabbed me. Despite the fact that the people there generally have a bit less money than here in the Netherlands, they are not so concerned about that. I can really appreciate this outlook on life. Also in the future I will definitely make some faraway trips. The next trip will most likely be to South America!
